Mrs Papri Roy Banerjee,

The Resilient Creator

Ms. Papri Roy Banerjee, a professional makeup artist and art teacher, faced a sudden ovarian tumour torsion that plunged her into excruciating pain within minutes. Despite losing one ovary and the emotional weight, she transformed trauma into purpose through crochet, painting, and slow stitching. Art remains her lifelong anchor, now her path to mental clarity and presence.
Her Courageous Journey

From crisis to creativity

When first examined, Ms. Roy Banerjee writhed in agony as her ovarian tumour torsioned on itself.

Her family stood perplexed by the rapid pain onset. With no time for CT or MRI scans, emergency ovarian torsion demanded immediate action. The initial hospital lacked major surgery facilities, so swift transfer enabled our full surgical team to convene that late evening.

The severely damaged ovary could not be salvaged and required removal.

Rising Through Art

The sudden loss shocked Ms. Roy Banerjee, unfamiliar with ovarian torsion’s ferocity. This gynaecological emergency disrupted life plans and deepened mental anguish.

Yet she refused definition by loss. Introduced to slow stitching by her mentor, she embraced it as mindful decluttering. As a dedicated teacher, she now shares creativity through crochet, painting, embroidery, applique, and hand-painting, transforming simple fabrics into masterpieces.

A Life Reclaimed

Despite ongoing treatment for her remaining ovary, Ms. Roy Banerjee thrives vibrantly. “Art has been integral to my life,” she shares, “and I continue sharing my creativity.” Professional makeup artistry complements her teaching, proving health curveballs cannot dim the human spirit.

She returned bigger and brighter, her slow stitching practice anchoring presence amid adversity.

✍🏽 This is my Tribute to her.
Thank you, Ms. Roy Banerjee, for embodying indomitable strength. Your crochet, paintings, and slow stitching inspire beauty from hardship, lighting paths forward.
